Student Spotlight: Trinity Adams-Martin

St. Philip’s 大学 Early 大学 High School Student Trinity Adams, a determined and ambitious young woman, will graduate in May 2024 with her associate degree. A month later, she will cross the stage to receive her high school diploma.

As an early college high school student, Trinity has already experienced the rigors of college-level coursework, gaining insights that will set her apart from her peers as she continues her college experience out-of-state in the Fall of 2024 at Wesleyan University, a private liberal arts institution, 在米德尔顿, 康涅狄格州.

Trinity has a full-ride scholarship which will cover $90,000 annually. This opportunity came as a result of her participation in QuestBridge - a national non-profit that connects low-income youth with leading colleges. “I wish more people would apply. That’s all it takes,” said Trinity. “应用ing for college can be as tedious as having a part-time job. I applied to nine colleges through one online portal and Quest helped match me with the best fit.” Trinity also applied to Stanford University, Washington and Lee University, and Vanderbilt University.  

"They also taught me how to write personal essays and apply for scholarship,” Trinity said. Her essay was about homelessness, and how you can never tell someone’s circumstances by just looking at them.

The Wesleyan scholarship includes room and board, 膳食计划, and even a $500 transition scholarship to help her move from Texas to 康涅狄格州ecticut. She’s also been offered a work study position that will help her earn money throughout her time there.

Trinity is interested in math and science. While she prepares to complete her high school and college studies, she’ll choose a major.
